MY Space: www.myspace.com/jessicapaigemuso Jessica Paige is a multi award-winning singer/songwriter from Melbourne. She plays solo and with her band, Jess & the Paige Boys. Her style is alt-pop. Jessica started busking on Swanston Street, Melbourne when she was 14 and she still busks often in Bourke Street Mall. There is no doubt that paying her dues by busking, probably the hardest gig of all, has been largely responsible for her ease in front of an audience. Jessica's EP Under My Skin was released November 2006 and John Butler granted her a JB Seed Award to assist with promotion for her East Coast band tour that followed. Under My Skin was added to rotation on Qantas in-flight radio and ABC's online Oztrax. Her EP was also featured on ABC radio in Central Victoria. The cover of Rolling Stone came early to Jessica - as her song was added to the CD on the cover of that venerable magazine! Her track was accompanied by tracks from top Aussie musicians such as John Butler, Missy Higgins, The Waifs, The Cat Empire and many more. Jessica was pictured and profiled in the magazine. 2007 also brought the documentary about the huge St. Kilda Festival to Foxtel's The Max Music channel. Entitled "Launch of Legends", it featured an interview with Jessica and footage from her gig at the festival. The Autumn issue of Australian Musician magazine carried an interview of Jessica as well as this photo underneath - Jessica and amazing Independent musician, John Butler. Jessica has been influenced by artists and bands that are strongly melodic and lyric-driven. Her own father is a master singer/songwriter, vocalist and guitar player (Steve Romig). Jess released her first EP, "Back of Our Minds", in 2004 and it gradually collected several songwriting awards. The first song was awarded the APRA Songwriter Award at Musicoz.
Jessica's first EP was partly funded by a grant from The Australia Council and songs are available by download only on over 60 download sites (like Itunes and JB Hifi downloads). Her album is in the works - early demos were made with funding assistance from The Foundation for Young Australians! It should be ready later in 2009. Other Projects: Howard and Paige Co-writing jazz project with Luke Howard. This is yielding some really beautiful songs. Luke is an amazing pianist and has won awards at the Montreaux Jazz competition as well as many other things. Cannon and Paige A jazz standards duo with multi award-winning jazz guitarist Glenn Cannon, suitable for all types of special events, parties and weddings. Jessica is also continuing to write/record funky electro pop dance music with Jesse Bilewitz. For reviews, articles and high res photos, please see Jessica's Sonicbids Electronic Press Kit
